Zero to 60: in Magnolia & Ballard
Yesterday our outreach team had a major break-through in their ability to find places for Monitor gift subscriptions! We focused on expecting people to want a subscription, and knowing that Love opens the way. Four excellent locations in downtown Ballard said yes and one more said maybe: a barber shop, a nail salon, a burger restaurant, an Indian food restaurant, and the "Sip and Ship" shop, which is a combination private mailbox spot and coffee shop.

In Ballard Izzy and Haley found the historic former Carnegie Free Library building, which was the original location of the Ballard Christian Science church and reading room more than a century ago. Originally First Church of Christ, Scientist, Ballard, it became Second Church Seattle around 1908 when Seattle annexed Ballard.
At lunch time they checked out the Ballard Locks which connects Ballard to Magnolia and provides a boat elevator between salt and fresh waterways.

The previous day in Magnolia, they covered Magnolia Village on the south end, where Twelfth Church in Seattle has its CS Reading Room, and some businesses along Thorndyke.
Today they are in the Roosevelt district north of the U-District and East Green Lake, the historic home of the former Eleventh Church. Tomorrow they are headed for Bainbridge Island.
Committee members: remember that your #1 duty is to prayerfully support the activities of this committee. This outreach work is very challenging in so many ways. Your active efforts to see that "Love is opening the way" is much appreciated.
