Finding friendly openness in Capitol Hill
By Lusho Hambiliki
On Monday, June 17, Cindy and I went to Capitol Hill, one of Seattle's friendliest neighborhoods, this past Monday. We started the day with metaphysical, bringing a calm and contemplative atmosphere to the rest of the day.
The LGBTQ+ community is well-supported on Capitol Hill, and this inclusion is beautifully reflected in the neighborhood's vibrant shops and welcoming ambiance. The neighborhood's friendliness and openness were noticeable as we walked through it, adding to the enjoyment of our visit.
We made many fascinating store visits, each with various goods that excited and caught our curiosity. On Capitol Hill, window shopping is a pleasure because every shop has a fresh and captivating display to look at.
After distributing a good number of our sample copies, we ventured further into the neighborhood. By the time we handed out our last copies, we were ready for a break and decided to grab some lunch. Our bus stop was conveniently located near a cozy café that had a playful twist – it was filled with cats! Even though I’m not particularly fond of cats, watching them from outside the café was a fun and amusing experience.
For lunch, we went to a local pho restaurant. I'd never tasted pho before and was looking forward to it. While I would not necessarily have pho again, the experience was nice and contributed to the highlights of our day.
We headed back home, our spirits up and our tummies full. Looking back on the day, we were happy to have distributed every sample copy and obtained five gift subscriptions. It was a productive day filled with fresh experiences.
Capitol Hill's charm lies in the connections we form along the way as much as in its lively shops and welcoming neighborhood. We had a great time exploring this neighborhood.
