Another good day at U-District Farmers Market

By Izzy Marvin

Today was a great day! I attended the University District farmers market and had great success. Today was a bit slower of a day but I gave out 6 sample copies and one gift subscription!

An older man approached me and we started having a conversation about The Christian Science Monitor Weekly and how he was familiar with it and he used to subscribe but not any longer and he loves the media coverage it provides. I offered him a sample copy and a gift subscription and he took both! I was so happy to see him so excited and grateful!

After this a little boy came up to my station and was asking questions and he grabbed a sample copy. Just like the Queen Anne market, two international rescue committee members took a sample copy! It's great to see other organizations supporting others within the markets!

One interesting interaction I had was with a college age boy who was skeptical of what I was offering and we had a little conversation about The Monitor and Christian Science. He was still skeptical after this conversation but took a sample copy anyway to find out for himself what The Monitor is all about so I am grateful for this interaction.

The last person that took a sample copy was a man that seemed to be going through a hard time. He was really excited to read the magazine!

Overall a great day at the U-District farmers market.
