Taking Flight! Monitor outreach begins

Very pleased to share that our summer outreach project work has begun! Our first shipment of 500 new copies of The Christian Science Monitor arrived from Boston yesterday mid-afternoon at our new U-District office.

Received! 500 copies of The Christian Science Monitor Weekly
just flown in from Boston

Immediately our workers unpacked them. We are beginning with the June 27 issue of the CS Monitor, "Taking Flight"! These copies now have a sticker on the front with a web link to the ChristianScienceWA.org website and the words "Find more copies at a Christian Science Reading Room near you."

Within an hour, our outreach team was out visiting community businesses delivering free sample copies. Our first full-time outreach worker, Haley Hill started work on Monday. Our second, Izzy Marvin, will start work next Thursday. In the meantime, I continue to look for substitute workers to fill in schedule gaps so we always have a team of two. Very grateful to have Tobin Blair, a Principia College sophomore from Bainbridge Island help out yesterday.

Tobin and Haley hit the streets. Outreach work begins!

They successfully distributed about 50 copies of the Monitor to coffee shops, restaurants, car repair shops, community centers, and other businesses in the University District commercial area. Our goal is to give 100 sample copies and 10 gift subscriptions a day. We are all learning as we go how to do this kind of outreach. Please support this project with your prayers!
