Making the rounds in Magnolia
By Cindy Obi-Njoku
Hello dear reader, Cindy here. On Thursday during our third week, June 6, we visited Magnolia. The neighborhood was calm, and the weather was lovely. People strolled by or hung out in cafes and the environment seemed really casual.
When we arrived in Magnolia, we started our outreach on West McGraw Street which houses the Christian Science Reading Room in Magnolia. We gave out copies to establishments until we got to the reading room. On getting there, we met Bob Merrihew, and he welcomed us in. We explored the Reading Room and after hanging out there for a while, we continued our outreach.
Many of the establishments were open to receiving copies but only one of them agreed to a gift subscription. After our exploration of Magnolia, we went to Interbay and our way there, we placed a gift subscription near Lawton Park.
Interbay was more residential, with establishments more spread apart. However, we were able to place one gift subscription there. When we were done with Interbay, we walked to Commodore Park. We got to observe the mechanics of the Ballard locks and I loved watching the birds and the seals. The park also housed a fine array of greenery and flora.
All in all, it was a lovely day.
The previous Sunday, Ross and Cindy Safronoff, Jake Lowe, Cindy Obi-Njoku, Lusho Hambiliki joined members of Twelfth Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle for lunch at Chinooks in Salmon Bay in Magnolia
