Ballard & Fremont: Two Favorites
By Izzy Marvin
Let's just start by saying Ballard was and is still one of our favorite destinations, especially for Izzy. This was one location she could not wait to go and visit again this summer, which they did on Friday, June 2.
Ballard is a very receptive district. Last summer Ballard received a lot of gift subscriptions, so this summer when Bella and Izzy visited they were able to go into those same businesses and check in to see how the businesses have been enjoying their gift subscription to The Christian Science Monitor Weekly. Every place they revisited loved the Monitor and enjoyed having it in their business thus far and were excited to get their free gift subscription renewed! In addition to renewing multiple business gift subscriptions the girls gifted two new subscriptions.
It was such a rewarding feeling to revisit this location and see that a difference has already been made in terms of receptivity and knowledge about the Monitor.
Fremont is another Seattle favorite. At times the girls come in contact with some individuals that are not too receptive or open, but Fremont was full of receptivity and kindness. The girls did not feel much resistance. A great number of the businesses they visited on Thursday, June 1, happily accepted free sample copies of the Monitor. Three gift subscriptions were placed.
The girls did an excellent job covering all of Fremont and visiting every business in the area. At the end of the day, Izzy activated her tour guide hat and took Bella to Gas Works Park! Izzy made Bella look at the ground on the walk up to the top of the hill in order to have a climactic view of downtown Seattle. Bella was in awe and was only able to say “wow”. The girls enjoyed part of their evening basking in the glory of the sun and the beautiful scenery. Fremont was definitely one for the books!
