A visit to UW Bothell Campus

By Cindy Obi-Njoku

Hello dear reader, Cindy here. On the Wednesday of our second week, we went to the University of Washington, Bothell. The campus was beautiful with lots of greenery, and we found it interesting that they were still in session.

On arrival, we went into the first building closest to the parking lot. It was relatively easy to figure out where to distribute copies of The Monitor as there were a lot of waiting areas and common spaces in the college. The buildings seemed to all have storeys so we would drop copies in common spaces on the different floors and then head on to the next building.

When we were done distributing, we noticed that there was a school safety drill being held by the police on the campus and we participated as we waited for Cindy Safronoff to come pick us up. They showed us how to give CPR to adults and babies and I got tea from their array of snacks and drinks.

The campus trip was calm in general.

That evening we went with Sabra Lowe to dinner with other members of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bothell. We had dinner at Sparta’s Pizza and Pasta House, Bothell. On arrival we were welcomed with open arms and lots of introductions. The people were really friendly and during the course of the dinner we had discussions about several topics ranging from school, to work, to travel.

After dinner, we headed to First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bothell for the Testimony Meeting. The church was beautiful and the readings and hymns for the day were lovely. Lusho and I gave our testimonies along with several other members of the church and I enjoyed every bit of it. After church, we were introduced to some other members of the church we had not met at dinner and they too were lovely.

All in all, it was a lovely evening.
