A Day In Redmond
By Lusho Hambiliki
Our day on Wednesday, June 12, began with reading the sermon on the mount before we headed out to Redmond by bus. We enjoy reading this text because it puts us in the right mind before starting our day.
The Christian Science Reading Room was our first stop when we got to Redmond. We were met by Paul, a friendly man who gave us maps so we could easily find places to go. We started our outreach in the beautiful weather and positive vibes.
We found the areas we visited quite challenging because they had a lot of policies and the stores were less receptive to take copies. Despite this, we were able to give out all copies and were lucky enough to give out a free gift subscription. We spent some time in the sun in a pretty park admiring the views of Redmond.
We went back to the Reading Room where we met Michelle, a very kind woman who took us out to dinner. We went to a Mexican restaurant and we were joined by some members of the Redmond church. It was a wonderful experience sharing and listening to everyone’s stories and the cool things everyone does!.
After a wonderful dinner, we went to the testimony meeting where life changing testimonies were shared. We ended the service with a selfie to remember the day well spent and the new connections made.
After a long and productive day, Cindy and I were driven home by Amy Burke, a Redmond church member who lives in Seattle near where we are staying in the U-District. Our visit to Redmond was so memorable and we hope to go to many more amazing places filled with amazing people.
