Zooming with the Dallas team

We had an early start on Friday, May 25, because we had a Zoom video conference meeting scheduled with the Dallas team. Yes, they are doing a “Compass the City” project in Texas, too, but they call their project “Monitors to Main Street” and they are doing it through their joint media committee.

The Dallas team outreach workers are Mitchell McMullen and Salvadore Flores. Both are Texans. Sal is a Principia College student, doing the work as an internship for college credit. The Dallas initiative is being organized by David Matthews, who did 2 days of outreach last summer here in Seattle with Izzy, and Karen McMullen.

It was fun to share tips and tactics between the teams. And suddenly it all feels bigger than just us here in Seattle. It’s starting to feel like a movement.
