A Fun Distribution Journey to Spokane
By Lusho Hambiliki
On Wednesday, July 10th, Cindy S, Cindy O, Ross, and I embarked on an exciting distribution road trip journey to Spokane!
The day before our trip, Cindy O and I prepared by putting stickers on 400 sample copies of The Christian Science Monitor Weekly. Early the next morning, Cindy S and Ross picked us up at 7:50 am,and we set off for Spokane at 8 am. Although I slept through most of the ride, the glimpses I caught of Washington's beautiful landscapes were breathtaking.
After about a four-hour drive, we arrived in Spokane and met Barb at Arby's. Barb was going to help distribute the sample copies with Cindy S, while Cindy O and I packed up and headed to downtown Spokane with Ross.
The day was extremely hot, which posed a challenge, but it was refreshing to be in a new environment and enjoy different views.
We initially targeted the mall downtown for distribution, but we found more success at nearby cafes and salons.
For lunch, we stopped at a Mexican restaurant before braving the heat again to finish distributing our remaining copies. We revisited the mall, but the stores weren't very receptive, so we continued our search outdoors.
After handing out our last copy, we treated ourselves to well-deserved snow cones at the park, enjoying the sight of people and dogs playing under the water fountain.
Ross picked us up, and we went to Subway to meet Barb and Cindy S. After ordering dinner, we headed to Barb's house, where we met her lovely husband and had great conversations before attending the Wednesday testimony meeting. The church members greeted us warmly, and we listened to inspiring testimonies before heading to our host families for the night. I stayed with Barb and her family, who were incredibly sweet and kind. I wished I had more time to get to know them better.
The next morning, Barb and I picked up Cindy O from her host family's house at 7:45 am, and we made our way to the church to meet Ross and Cindy S. After saying our goodbyes, we began our journey back to Seattle.
On the way, we stopped by a little town called Cle Elum to distribute more sample copies. It was a small town with not much happening, so we didn't stay long. We made another brief stop in Roslyn before continuing our journey.
Our trip back to Seattle was enjoyable, filled with fun road trip moments, meeting new people, and exploring new places. This adventure to Spokane was truly memorable and enriching.
