Final Tally: How our 2024 outreach team did by the numbers

For this our third summer doing outreach using The Christian Science Monitor Weekly to main street businesses by hiring college interns, here’s how we did:

40+ commercial districts covered. We reached as far West as Bremerton, as far East as Spokane, as far North as Friday Harbor, and as far South as Enumclaw.

4000+ copies of the Monitor Weekly distributed to Main Street businesses for their customers and/or employees

10 issues of the Monitor Weekly distributed over 9 weeks

460+ retail stores accepted copies of the Monitor Weekly

120 one-year Monitor Weekly gift subscriptions were placed in retail businesses including barber shops, salons, cafes, restaurants, and more

21 days of tables at Farmers Markets at 7 different Farmers Markets

224 issues of the Monitor Weekly given directly to individuals at Farmers Markets

10 Christian Science Reading Rooms were visited by our team, besides Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle (home base RR)

Christian Science services at 6 different churches besides Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle (home base church) were attended by our team

60 blog posts shared about the 2024 “Compass the City” project

5 project videos created

2 formal presentations made to the Seattle area Christian Science church community

Countless good first impressions were made by our interns and the Monitor Weekly introduced to diverse people in our local communities

The calendar whiteboard in our “War Room” where we met every morning to plan each day of outreach
